The Shockwave NME Tour 2010 Featuring ONLY ZILDJIAN DRUMMERS!

The Shockwaves NME Awards Tour bus is rolled into Portsmouth yesterday with only two more shows left on the tour.

The Tour takes place in the lead-up to the official NME Awards themselves, due to take place on 24 February 2010. It highlights bands from the independent alternative rock scene, many of whom go onto to become huge stars...previous acts have included The Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Florence and The Machine, Lostprophets and Stereophonics.

Zildjian are delighted to announce that the 2010 Tour consists solely of bands with Zildjian drummers...and we were on hand to catch up with the guys n gal during their sound check yesterday.



Sam Doyle of the Maccabees has been with Zildjian since 2009, tonight they headlined the gig and boy did Sam work hard! After the Tour, the Maccabees will be taking some time to write new material, you can find out more at: www.themaccabees.co.uk.

And so on to our newest Artist on the Tour, Suren De Saram of Bombay Bicycle Club. Suren recently called by the UK Office to select his cymbals for the Tour which included:

Finally...Connor Hanwick from the USA band The Drums. As the NME Tour draws to a close, the The Drums commence on their own tour of the UK before concentrating on a new album in June 2010. Be on the look-out for this band when they return to home turf later in the year.
