MusicFest Canada and Zildjian Make Beautiful Music
Vancouver, Canada May 16th through May 22nd played host to the 33rd Annual MusicFest for the best Canadian school music programs to show off their talents and work some of the finest educators in North America.
The Avedis Zildjian Co. was again proud to the exclusive cymbals provider and one of the top sponsors of the festival, which brought over 9000 music students into the greater Vancouver area for a week long of top notch music education. The students participated in clinics and performances, through out the week where, they were critiqued by international artists and educators such as jazz drummer extraordinaire Steve Houghton. Zildjian also is excited about providing 5 scholarships for top performing percussionist and percussion sections.
The week raps up with outstanding concerts on Friday night by the Canadian National Concert Band, and Saturday night by the Yamaha All Star Jazz Band. Both of which consist of the best music students/performers from across Canada.
It was a great week filled with outstanding student musicians performing and learning. Congratulations to all the students and directors that participated.
